Priya has worked for over 11 years internationally as a safeguarding lead; she brings unique skills and knowledge to the international school environment, enabling effective case consultation through a combination of best practices, local & regional legislation, as well as cultural awareness for safeguarding young people. Prior to working internationally, Priya worked as a social worker and social work manager in the U.K. in Child Protection and Court Proceedings teams, where she gained an exemplary reputation as a practitioner. Priya, in particular, stands out for her ability to navigate working practices, communication and social etiquette, offering a distinctive understanding grounded in practical experience in the international market and the contextual needs of international schools. Priya’s unique skill set and experience have led her to be headhunted to deliver training on behalf of government entities and NGOs in the region.

Safeguarding training is crucial for schools to ensure they have staff with the skillset to identify and report welfare concerns, ensure legal compliance, create a safe and trusted environment and support vulnerable students.
Safeguarding audits review and assess the effectiveness of safeguarding policies, procedures, and practices. The purpose of safeguarding audits is to ensure that an organisation is creating a safe environment and taking appropriate measures to protect individuals, especially vulnerable populations such as children, young people, and adults at risk, from harm, abuse, or neglect.
At PMC, we understand the paramount importance of creating a safe and nurturing environment for children. Our comprehensive range of services is designed to empower organisations and individuals in championing child protection.

International school DSLs have unique challenges compared to counterparts in the UK.

Priya is an outstanding international safeguarding consultant/school counsellor and professional supervisor who is passionate about the well-being of children. During my tenure as a School Counsellor at Aspen Heights British School, I have had the privilege of receiving external supervision from Priya on a monthly ongoing basis. Her support and mentorship have been invaluable to me.
She has drawn from her own experiences and expertise professionally to provide best practice support solutions and has been instrumental in my professional development. She has consistently demonstrated an empathetic ear, provided encouraging words and steered me in towards creative counselling solutions. This has enabled me to improve my practice and support my students more effectively with greater longer term vision.
Priya was also the founder member of the Abu Dhabi School Counsellors Network which I have inherited from her successors. Her work in Abu Dhabi has been instrumental in paving the way forward for other school counsellors, like myself and also for women of colour in educational leadership roles. I have no doubt that her influence will continue to be felt for years to come and I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from her.
